What does it mean to "adopt" a baby?
It simply means you will be providing part of the money it takes to provide for all of your "adopted" baby's needs (diapers, food, caregivers, laundry).
Will my support go to my child only?
All support money goes into a general child care fund to provide an even amount of support for all children. Some children tend to get a lot of sponsors, while others have just a few.
What is the point of "adopting" individual babies then?
The idea behind the adoption program is to help those who may or may not have been to Kenya develop a special bond with a particular child and get to know that child better. They can follow all posts regarding that child on the blog. We hope that the "adoptive parents" will also remember to pray for their child's health and happiness as well as their future real adoptive parents.
What happens if my child is adopted during the 6 month period I have committed to?
We first of all praise God for that child's new family! That is exactly what we hope happens! Then we ask that you continue to honor your 6 month commitment. Usually soon after one baby leaves a new one arrives! Again, all money goes into a general fund and is evenly distributed among all of the babies.
Can I pay for the whole 6 months up front?
That is not a problem at all! And many have chosen to do it that way. Just note that on the front of the envelope and either return the rest of the envelopes to the ministry center or throw them away.
Who do I make the check out to?
Please make all checks out to New Life Fellowship. This way it will be properly recorded for tax purposes.
Will I receive a statement with the totals I have given for the year for tax purposes?
Yes. If we have your address, we will send you a statement at the end of the year with your giving totals.
